Worthington Arts Festival

Works from about 140 artists will grace the lawn of the arts center. The Central Ohio Clay Arts is expected to be among the groups conducting arts activities.

Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival

Downtown Gahanna, 117 Mill St.

Date: June 16

Highlights include amusement park rides, local food and drink vendors and music ranging from “electric blues” to jazz to acoustic on five stages. Headliners include Joe Louis Walker, John Nemeth and Vanessa Collier.

Admission: $5 to $10

Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival

Bicentennial and Genoa Parks, 233 Civic Center Drive

Dates: June 14-15

As many as 500,000 people have been estimated to attend this event. The parade is always a highlight, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Goodale and High streets in the Short North.

Admission: Suggested donation of $5 a day

The 2019 Greater Columbus Arts Council Visual Arts Exhibition

Columbus Museum of Art, 480 E. Broad St.

Dates: through Sept. 29

The annual exhibit displays works by central Ohio artists who have been recognized for their talent and achievements by the Greater Columbus Arts Council, partner with the museum on this exhibit.

Admission: $18; $9 senior citizens, students; free for children and members and free to all on Sundays, discounted admission 5 to 9 p.m. Thursdays

Picnic With the Pops

John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons, East Rich and South High streets

Dates: through July 27

The Columbus Symphony will ditch the concert hall for Columbus Commons for its annual summer concert series. Under the baton of Principal Pops Conductor Stuart Chafetz, the symphony will accompany the likes of Kool & the Gang (June 14), Jefferson Starship (June 15) and — of course — the Ohio State University Marching Band (July 26-27).

Admission: $30 in advance, $35 at the gate, $10 for ages 3 to 12, free for age 2 and younger

CAPA Summer Movie Series

Ohio Theatre, 39 E. State St.

Dates: through Aug. 11

The Columbus Association for the Performing Arts is kicking off its 50th summer movie series with “Casablanca.” In all, it will feature 26 movies over nine weeks, concluding with “Oklahoma!” on Aug. 11. Two Saturday mornings – June 22 and July 27 – will feature classic cartoons.

Admission: Fifty cents. Later movies cost $5 or $30 for a strip of 10.

“Musical: The Musical”

Dates: through Aug. 18

Shadowbox Live’s company-created new show offers a satirical spoof of all those toe-tapping, finger-snapping “Hamilton”-rapping conventions of modern musical theater.

The Gateway Picture Show

Cult classics will be screened outdoors in the Gateway plaza on the second Tuesday of the month through September, starting June 11 with “But I’m a Cheerleader” (1999). Other showings: July 9, “When Harry Met Sally” (1989); Aug. 13, “American Pie” (1999); and Sept. 10, “Sixteen Candles” (1984).

Buckeye Country Superfest

After a year off, the festival will pump rarified air into Ohio Stadium, with legend George Strait and wide-smiling television star Blake Shelton both headlining the one-day event.
