Summer fun for the whole family in central Ohio suburbs.

Jazz pianist and composer Jason Moran also is a visual artist whose work explores the relationships between objects and sound, sculpture and stagecraft. His first museum exhibit will include mixed-media installations and charcoal drawings, many with jazz themes. On July 13, he will appear in an interdisciplinary performance with his trio, Bandwagon, and visual artists Lizzie Fitch and Ryan Trecartin. Gallery is closed on Mondays.

Admission: $8, $6 senior citizens and Ohio State University faculty and staff, free for members and students; free to all after 4 p.m. Thursdays and the first Sunday of the month.

“Chihuly: Celebrating Nature”

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, 1777 E. Broad St.

Dates: through March 29, 2020; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily

The conservatory’s large collection of colorful glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly will be reinstalled and on display in an exhibit that will extend throughout the building.

Admission: $19, $16 senior citizens, $12 ages 3 to 12, free for age 2 and younger and members

Columbus Commons Fitness Classes

Dates: Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, plus Saturday mornings from July 30 through Sept. 28

No contract, no excuses! Offering seven classes per week, there will be a little bit of everything: yoga, Zumba, kickboxing, cardio and hip-hop.

Columbus Commons Local Concerts

Dates: July and August

Performers on Thursday nights provide a perfect kickoff to the weekend. Shows include The Suffers and Doc Robinson (July 11), MojoFlo and Funk Worthy (July 18), Popgun and Honey and Blue (July 25), The Floorwalkers and The Spikedrivers (Aug. 1). The Navigators will play Saturday, Aug. 3.

Movie Nights

Date: June 21 and July 19 at 8:15 p.m.

Grab a blanket or a chair on the lawn and take in a free movie under the stars. “Mary Poppins Returns” will be shown on June 21 and “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” follows on July 19.

Commons for Kids

Dates: Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. throughout the summer

Friday mornings are officially about the kids of Columbus. Give the carousel a whirl or hit the bounce houses free of charge. There’s something for kids of all ages with demonstrations, Imagination Playground, crafts and games. Each week will have its own theme.

Shadowbox Live Performances

Shadowbox Live presents “Leather & Lace: A Musical Tribute to the Women of Rock” on May 26 and “Front Street Funk” on Sept. 1. Bars and food trucks open at 6 p.m. with music beginning at 8 p.m.

Obetz Zucchinifest

Dates: Aug. 30 to Sept. 2

The Zucchinifest is a family-friendly event that has something for everyone, including rides, food, and games. Entertainment includes Warrant (Aug. 30), Scotty McCreery & Special Guest (Aug 31), and Spin Doctors & Smash Mouth (Sep 1).

Braxton Miller’s CHARG1NG Youth Football Camp: Columbus Edition

Fortress Obetz, 2015 Recreation Trail

Former Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller will host the third annual Charg1ng camp. Each participant will receive free gear, lunch and a photo with Miller, who played in the NFL. Special guests include former Ohio State football players and current NFL players.

Splash ’N’ Cinema

Lancaster Park, 4390 Lancaster Ave.

Dates: June 21, July 19, Aug. 9, with movies beginning at dusk; splash pad hours extended until 9 p.m.

Cool off at the splash pad and watch a family-friendly movie. The lineup begins with “Ralph Breaks the Internet” on June 21, followed by “Incredibles 2” (July 19) and “Mary Poppins Returns” (Aug. 9).
